Museum Detox Hardship Fund, Formerly Coronavirus Emergency Fund Reopens for Donations
In May 2020 140 members and allies raised over £7000 to support Detoxers in need. Over the last 2 months the fund has been able to offer support to 36 Detoxers experiencing financial hardship. We paused the fund in June, to allow us to concentrate on distributing funds. We are now close to awarding all monies raised in May, and have therefore decided to reopen the fund.
Museum Detox Hardship Fund recipient:
‘Thank you very much for the gift/award - it will really really help. It’s great that someone within the museum sector is caring and supporting for freelancer zero-hours museum staff.’
We know that working in this sector can be financially precarious at the best of times. The economic climate remains dire, and is set to worsen over the coming months, so we have decided to keep the fund going for as long as there is a need for it.
If you can donate, please do so generously. If you need financial support please apply via email to museumdetox@gmail.com applications will be next we reviewed on the 7th and 21st August 2020.
